The Nominations and Election process for the PMI Honolulu Chapter 2012 Board of Directors has begun! Please read this message carefully if you or another member is interested in standing for election.

The following offices are open for nominations for election:    

  • Vice-President/2013 President-Elect (2 year commitment)
  • Director of Communications
  • Director of Publicity
  • Director of Professional Development
  • Director of Special Projects
  • Director of Finance
  • Director of Membership
  • Director of Programs

To be eligible, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Member in good standing with PMI and the PMI Honolulu Chapter
  • Willingness to devote time and effort as a Director of the PMI Honolulu Chapter
  • Experience in the field of project management

How to volunteer:

The Nomination period begins Monday, September 26, 2011 and ends Sunday, October 9, 2011. All nominations must be in by Sunday, October 9th.

Nominees must submit a "biography" of themselves that is no longer than 100 words. Nominees may also submit a "vision statement" that is no longer than 100 words. This vision statement is suggested to include, but not be limited to, a description of what the candidate would like to accomplish, or information on why the candidate is the best choice for the office. No other "electioneering" or campaigning is permitted, and is grounds for disqualification.

Milestone Schedule:

Monday, September 26, 2011:  Nominations are accepted
Sunday, October 9, 2011:  Closing date for nominations
Friday, October 21, 2011:  All biographies, and vision statements must be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
Sunday, October 23, 2011:  A listing of candidates for each office, along with biographies (and vision statements) will be posted to the PMI Honolulu Chapter Website.
Monday, October 24, 2011:  A message with a link to candidate biographies, vision statements, and the election ballot will be sent to members.
Monday, October 24th, 2011:  The PMI Honolulu Chapter election is open
Friday November 11th, 2011:  Election Closes
November 14th, 2011:  Announce the certified election results
November 18th, 2011:  Install the 2012 Officers at the Annual Dinner meeting.
