Synopsis: This presentation will provide an update on the Honolulu Transit Project.
Speaker Bio:
Harvey Berliner has worked for InfraConsult for the past year as a member of the City and County of Honolulu Rapid Transit Division. On the Project he is the Chief Facilities Engineer and Interim Safety and Security Manager. Harvey has 32 years of experience working on transit systems. He has worked on the design and construction support of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit System, Taipei Rapid Transit System in Taiwan, the Hudson Bergen Light Rail System and Newark City Subway Extension in New Jersey, the No. 7 Subway Extension in New York City and currently the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.
Harvey received his BS in Civit Engineering from Purdue University and MBA from DePaul University in Chicago. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, New Jersey and New York.
Mark Hickson has 23 years in Construction Project Management in Rail & Highway Transportation, Retail, Residential, Research Facilities and Theme Park. He has 3 ½ years as Owners Representative – Project Management, Scheduling, and Estimating. Mark has managed 50+ staff as COO and Head of Development. Other areas of experience include; Program strategy and master planning of ‘Magic World’ Theme Park in Dubai; Primavera Authorized Representative – Sales, Implementation & Training; Extensive claims analysis for a major design builder on the California State Prison – Delano 2; Associate of the California Manufacturing Technology Center; 4.5 years in Software Development & Testing; Website Design and Programming.
Currently Mark serves as the Chief of Project Controls for the Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project (HHCTP). As an extension of City staff Mark’s responsibilities are to provide leadership in defining and implementing a comprehensive project controls department. Responsibilities include oversight and audit of GEC’s cost, schedule, and estimating efforts; Master Schedule development; ROW schedule development; Project Management software specification and implementation. Assist in development of the programs IT plan. Prepare documents for submittal to the FTA
