Synopsis:

A presentation and discussion of the tools and techniques Christine has used to successfully manage stakeholder communications.  She has led projects with a wide range of stakeholders and expectations.  Christine has facilitated stakeholder communications and requirements definition among healthcare CEO’s, COO’s, CIO’s, physicians, nurses, technology vendors, information system technologists, grant managers, and government agencies.   At Hawaii HIE, Christine manages the expectations of a Board of Directors comprised of more than 20 healthcare related organizations.

Speaker Bio:
Ms. Christine Sakuda is the Executive Director of the Hawai‘i Health Information Exchange, a 501(c)(3) non-for-profit dedicated to facilitating safe, effective and quality health information exchange throughout the state of Hawai`i.  Ms. Sakuda served as the President of the Hawai‘i Health Information Exchange from 2007-2009, and became the Executive Director in September of 2010.  The Hawai‘i HIE is the state-designated entity for the federal Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT(DHS-ONC), Health Information Exchange program, and is also the recipient of the ONC Regional Extension Center (REC) program for the Hawai‘i and the Pacific Territories of Guam, American Samoa and CNMI.

Ms. Sakuda was formerly the Information Officer for the Hawai`i Primary Care Association and oversaw its health information technology program working closely with Hawai‘i’s Federally Qualified Community Health Centers to implement telehealth and EHR programs.

Ms. Sakuda serves on the Board of the Hawai‘i County Beacon Community Consortium and is a member of numerous health IT-related associations.
