How do I join PMI Honolulu Chapter?

I became a PMI National Member back in 2009 thinking I would automatically be joining the PMI Honolulu, Hawaii Chapter (Local Chapter).  After two years of being a PMI Member, I discovered I was not registered with the Local Chapter.  My misunderstanding could have been avoided if I had spent time going through all the features and benefits provided on the PMI website.  It was an easy oversight at the time because I was focused on registering with PMI, getting qualified and passing the PMP Exam. 

In the spirit of sharing my lessons learned and to prevent others from make the same mistake; here is a step-by-step summary of what a new PMI member will need to do to ensure they have joined the PMI Honolulu, Hawaii Chapter.  This is a great way to meet your peers, develop new contacts, share solutions and ideas, and participate in activities and events. 

Join today by following these steps to become part of the PMI Honolulu, Hawaii ohana (family).

Step 1.   After going to the PMI website and logging in
                (https://authentication.pmi.org/Default.aspx?r=certification.pmi.org/default.aspx&s=true )

Step 2.   Click on Home (located to the right side of your name at the top of the
    page)

Step 3.   Go to Get Involved (located in the selection bar)

Step 4.   Select PMI Chapters and Communities of Practice  (one of the selections in the drop-down box)

Step 5.   Scroll down to “Find out more about chapters and communities of practice” and click on chapters

Step 6.   Scroll down the page and click on United States

Step 7.   Click on Hawaii

Step 8.   Click on Join

Step 9.   Membership is just $20.00. Click on Add to cart and follow the prompts that will guide you through the registration and payment.
