More about this month's topic:  The Honolulu Seawater Air Conditioning project crosses the majority of jurisdictions in Hawaii creating a long list of entitlement permits.  Permitting took 9 years, but the permitting effort isn’t finished. Permitting touches nearly all projects in Hawaii, and usually we gripe about the process.  Frederic Berg, with Honolulu Seawater Air Conditioning since 2008, has the battle scars to share.

Speaker Bio:  Frederic G. Berg started his career in project management on large construction infrastructure projects such as the ramp ways connecting the Airport to the Nimitz Viaduct and the commuter terminal hardstands. Later he moved to Bruxelles, Belgium as a marketing engineer for Orbot, an automated inspection systems company serving the integrated circuit board industry. In 1990 he returned to Hawaii to focus on real estate development on projects including Aloha Tower, self-storage, assisted living, office, 221 unit residential project Maluo’hai at the Villages of Kapolei, manufactured housing and setting up a joint venture between Kamehameha Schools and Brookfield Homes Hawaii for the completion of Keahou. Currently Mr. Berg is assisting Honolulu Seawater Air Conditioning in coordinating its development efforts. He is a graduate of UH in both Mechanical Engineering and Economics and later received an MBA from Boston University.

Policy for No-Shows:  The PMI Honolulu Chapter may be held to a confirmed head count and must pay the venue for such confirmations. If you have registered but do not attend, your registration fee is non-refundable.
