Title: Only the Paranoid Survive
Event ID: C166-P1903200
PMI Talent Triangle: Leadership
More about this month's topic:
As Servco celebrates its centennial year, Mark will share his thoughts on reasons for their success and plans for continued success through another one hundred years. Servco has gone through several phases, including a startup phase under the first generation, major diversification into 42 businesses under the second generation, and exiting many of those businesses and refocus on and expansion of automotive under the third generation. Mark will also discuss a model of leadership and its applications, such as leading change in a time of disruption and leading without authority. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about leading teams through projects and change.
Speaker Bio: Mark Fukunaga was recently named by Hawaii Business as the 2018 CEO of the Year. Initially committing to his father to work for five years in the family business, Mark ended up staying on for the past 30 years. In that time Servco has grown and been reinvented to become Hawaii’s largest privately-owned company. They have done this by placing the customer first and focusing on core competencies. Servco has been on Hawaii Business’ Best Places to Work listing for the past 14 years, since the list was first published.
