Mentorship Program

PMI Honolulu has launched a new, expanded Mentorship Program with two potential paths:  Leadership and Development.  You are invited to join this program if you:

Leadership Path:

  1. Desire to develop or grow your leadership skills by serving on the PMI Honolulu Board (whether next year or sometime in the future)
  2. Are interested to learn what it takes in time and expertise to serve on the Board of a 700+ member organization
  3. Have never served on the PMI Honolulu Board
  4. Are currently a PMI Honolulu Hawaii Chapter member in good standing

Development Path: 

  1. Desire to receive guidance and learn the different pathways of becoming a successful project manager
  2. Desire to develop and grow your leadership skills in the project management sector
  3. Have never served on the PMI Honolulu Board
  4. Are currently a PMI Honolulu Hawaii Chapter member in good standing 

If this is you, please complete the application below and we will pair you with a mentor who is a past board member (or possibly current board member) who can answer your questions and guide you over time to provide you with the mentorship you are seeking.

Criteria for mentors: Past board members for either Paths. Current board members for Path A and unless board member is an outgoing board member that will not be seeking a new term, at which they could be mentor for Path 1. Expectation by mentor and mentee: Mentorship limited to the calendar year, if interested to continue, mentee to sign up again at the next year’s cohort. (This keeps the record keeping accurate and to not over-assign mentors with too many mentees.) To meet at least 30min every month. May be asked to join a large group setting meeting at least 1-2 a year. In-person meeting is not a requirement, for calendar year 2021, virtual meetings highly recommended. To respond to feedback survey, which will be kept anonymous and is strictly for improving the program for future years. Request for mentor: Program will hold quarterly meetings to gather lessons learn and progress update from the mentors to ensure we maintain open communications. Key materials and documentation to be housed in basecamp for continuity purpose.
